Learning the Grace of Lament

If you or someone you know experiences grief, pain, or disappointment, join Dark Clouds, Deep Mercy on January 7 at 9:00 am.
This new Adult Sunday school study, based on Mark Vroegop's book, will show us how to use the Psalms to pray in the midst of our hurts. Joni Eareckson Tada considers it the “best of guides.”
We meet every Sunday in the Adult Sunday School room. Nathan Brummel and Ken Anema will lead the class.
Together let’s learn to trust God’s deep mercy under the clouds of life – no matter how dark.

Bible Reading In The Home
On January 1, 2023, the congregation began a 2-year journey through the Bible, reading a chapter from the OT and a chapter from the NT each day.

To equip families and individuals to engage God's Word with greater purpose and delight in 2023, the Adult Sunday School is getting practice and instruction on how to use the five questions Pastor Rossi suggests we ask each time we read. These questions are:
-
What is the main idea of the passage?
-
Where does the passage fit in the history of salvation and the cross and resurrection of Jesus?
-
What is God teaching me about Himself?
-
What is God teaching me about myself?
-
What is God teaching me about Jesus?
-
How should I respond to the teaching from the passage?

Each class there are two 'Bible Reading Reports' from members of the class, and then instruction on how to go about answering each question.
You can find class resources here.

Fall 2022
Instruments In The Redeemer's Hands

Paul David Tripp’s best-selling book, Instruments in the Redeemer’s Hands, opened the eyes of thousands of men and women within the church to how they can be part of the change process in others’ lives. This interactive small group resource is based on the book and designed to help small groups, Sunday school classes, and others explore together the practical ways God works out change in his people.

Coming alongside others in biblical change is a community process, and it’s often messy. Through twelve lessons, homework discussions, and “Make It Real” life applications, the Instruments in the Redeemer’s Hands class will help participants grasp the lasting change they so desperately desire—while working together.

Understanding Woke Ideology
This class is a continuation of our series of classes on how to love our neighbor. This one session class was an introduction to a seminar Pastor Rossi gave to the Ladies Bible Study Group and to a future seminar to be held at a time and place to be determined.

How to Love Your Neighbor in a Transgender Culture
Purpose of the class: to bring clarity to the reasons for the transgender movement and to give clear biblical direction on how to live in this culture without compromising the Scripture’s teaching on sexuality nor our conscience.
